Acupressure massage is performed over clothes in a seated massage chair. It is a meridian based therapy in which thumb, finger, elbow and knuckle pressure are used over many of the acupressure points on the 12 major meridians accessible on the back, arms, hands, neck, head and legs.

The pressure applied is quite deep as the therapist is able to use body weight along with pressure from the re-inforced thumbs or elbows etc to get deep into the tension and knots. This technique helps to stimulate and balance the flow of energy or life-force throughout the body and also releases tension and knots within the muscles. This in turn stimulates the circulatory, nervous, immune and lymphatic systems whilst promoting the release of endorphins and important mood-regulating neurotransmitters.
